Approach

How we work.

We're a small firm with firm opinions about how a finance function should run. Here's what we commit to, what working together looks like, and what we deliberately don't do.

Operating principles

Five things we commit to.

01

Senior-led, by design

A senior accountant or controller owns every engagement. You're never handed to a junior. The person running your close has run closes at scale, against real deadlines.

02

Automation-native, not bolted on

Bank feeds, AP workflows, expense capture and journal entries are built to run with minimal human touch from day one. That means a faster close, fewer errors and a cost that scales.

03

Documentation is part of the work

Every process we run gets a plain-English SOP stored in your systems: close calendar, reconciliations, approval workflows. If you ever leave, you keep a working finance function. Most firms disagree with us on this.

04

No surprise bills

Your subscription covers everything in your tier. Out-of-scope work, like a one-time cleanup or a system migration, is named and quoted before we start. We won't absorb it now and raise your price later.

05

Built to scale with you

Grow from $3M to $8M and you move up a tier with the same team and the same context. No re-onboarding, no new account manager.

Rhythm

What working with us looks like, week to week.

  1. Days 1–7

    Discovery

A 30-minute call and a look at your books, then a written proposal within a week. Free. No pitch deck, no obligation.

  2. Days 1–30

    Onboarding

We set up automation, clean up history if needed, and run the first close together. By day 30 the books are current and your team knows the rhythm.

  3. Day 31 onward

    Monthly

    • Close done by the 10th business day
    • Reviewed financials in your inbox the same day
    • A scheduled check-in, weekly to monthly by tier
    • Questions answered within 24 hours
  4. Every 90 days

    Quarterly

A review of trends, cash position and what should change next quarter. Included at every tier.

Boundaries

What we don't do.

Clear lines make for better partnerships. Here's where we stop, and who picks it up.

We don't Instead
File tax returnsWe coordinate with your CPA and prepare what they need.
Issue audited or reviewed financialsWe're not a licensed CPA firm. Your CPA performs the engagement; we prepare the workpapers and support.
Process payrollWe review it and build it into the close. Processing stays with Gusto, ADP, Rippling or your current provider.
Run IT or systems supportWe recommend and implement finance software like Zoho Books, Sage Intacct and Bill.com, but not your network or wider tech stack.
Give legal adviceTax structure, entity formation and contract review go to your attorney.
Take equity in lieu of feesWe're paid in cash, monthly.

Stack

Opinionated about tools. Pragmatic about yours.

We standardize on a short list we know deeply, and we'll work in what you already use. If a migration is worth it, we'll say so. If it isn't, we'll say that too.

Next step

Start with discovery.

A 30-minute call and a look at your books. You'll have a written proposal within a week, free and with no obligation.
